This manuscript summarizes the various herbal plants used in the treatment of arthritis. Herbal medicines are popular within the vast majority of the world's population as remedies for diseases. The medicinal plants have great economic value all over the world. A very rich botanical wealth has been given to us by nature and a vast number of different types of plants grow in different parts of the world. There is significant evidence that plant extracts have the ability to grow into agents that can be used in disease prevention or treatment therapies. The manuscript focuses on the detailing of rheumatoid arthritis with their etiology and pathogenesis. It summarizes the herbal plants and their active constituent used in the management of rheumatoid arthritis and also summarizes the patent list related to the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. In recent years the several medicinal plants are determined which shows the anti-arthritic function.
