ABSTRACT:

In modern architecture, people want to create impressive and intricate buildings. However, due to limited land and a growing population, especially in countries like India, it has become necessary to build taller structures. As buildings go higher, they face challenges from strong winds. This can be risky, especially if the building's shape is irregular, as it can lead to twisting forces and wind induced vibrations that pose a threat to the structure, human lives, and resources. Therefore, it's crucial to carefully study and understand these forces during the design process. In this study we tried to sum up all the conclusion made till date to mitigate the wind forces on high rise buildings. Adding openings or openings in a building is one method to reduce the impact of wind-induced vibrations and the force of strong winds, especially when constructing tall buildings. These openings allow the wind to pass through, decreasing the pressure on the building and minimizing the vibrations and potential damage caused by powerful winds as the building goes higher.

ABSTRACT:

Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is an increasingly significant health concern due to its widespread occurrence, heightened risk factors, and significant mortality rates. To address this issue, researchers have focused on utilizing the blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) signal to analyze the occurrences of apnea or hypoventilation episodes during sleep, resulting in the development of the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI). In order to extract relevant information from the SpO2 signals, 35 Time Domain characteristics have been identified and studied. To enhance the practical application of these features in Industry 5.0 supply chains, a feature selection procedure was implemented, effectively reducing the dimensions from 7 to just 5. This reduction has significantly improved the feasibility of integrating these features into real-world scenarios. To select the most relevant features, a combination of the competitive swarm optimizer algorithm and the Pearson correlation coefficient was utilized in this study. By employing these techniques, the researchers were able to identify the most informative features for analysis and classification. The study achieved promising results using a random forest classifier, reporting an accuracy rate of 86.92% and a specificity rate of 90.7%. These findings highlight the potential of using the selected features for the accurate detection and diagnosis of OSAHS, contributing to the development of effective treatment strategies and improved patient outcomes.

ABSTRACT:

ABSTRACT:

Density and speed of sound were measured earlier by us for binary liquid mixtures formed by Benzonitrile, Chlorobenzene, Benzyl chloride and Benzyl alcohol with Benzene at temperature range 298.15 to 313.15 K and atmospheric pressure over the whole concentration range. Pseudo-Gruneisen parameter and internal pressure were derived from the measured values of density and ultrasonic velocity. These values were compared with the theoretical values obtained by the utilization of Flory theory, Ramaswamy and Anbananthan model and model suggested by Glinski to predict the behavior of weakly interacting liquids. The observed properties derived from measured data were fitted to Redlich-Kister polynomial relation to estimate the binary coefficients and standard errors. Excess Pseudo-Gruneisen parameter for these binary mixtures was computed to study the molecular interactions involved in the liquid systems.

ABSTRACT:

Renewable energy use is still a viable option for people when it comes to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development. This is the reason why some people in the commune of N’Zérékoré have opted for the use of solar panels as sources of energy. Although the use of these solar panels is considered an alternative solution to energy problems, it is clear that the performance of these solar panels after installation is negatively influenced by meteorological parameters such as temperature, humidity and precipitation. This Paper aims to highlight the dependence of meteorological parameters on the performance of solar panels in the urban commune of N’Zérékoré to allow users to make an optimal choice of solar panels on the market. To achieve this objective, a questionnaire survey was first carried out to identify the types of panels sold in the urban commune of N’Zérékoré. Then a method for evaluating the Variation in solar Panel performance by Standardization (EVRPS) was carried out. The results of the surveys showed the presence of 18 types of solar panels in specialized shops. The same trend was observed among users in the 16-neighborhood visited. Among the 18 types, 3 (Ulica mono, Felicity solar and Bosch solar) were respectively dominant in neighbourhoods and shops. Furthermore, we found 90 installations identified in households, 53 of which were functional (59%) and 37 non-functional (41%). Analysis of the results reveals that the performance and productivity of each type of panel strongly depended on temperature, humidity and precipitation. It has been proven that Ulica mono and Felicity solar types were the solar panels suitable to the forest region weather conditions. Therefore, this study suggests the sale and use of Ulica mono and Félicity solar” panels for the inhabitants of the urban commune of Nzérékoré.

ABSTRACT:

There is a wide genetic variability of cucumber in different parts of India. Performance evaluation of the different genotypes for growth and yield attributes is a prerequisite for any breeding programme. Hence, studies have been conducted at the Department of Vegetable Science, Horticultural College and Research Institute, TamilNadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, TamilNadu, India from 2020 to 2023 to evaluate different genotypes collected from different parts of TamilNadu to find the suitability of cucumber for salad and slice (fruit) purpose. Fifteen genotypes collected from different sources were laid out in Randomized Block Design with two replications and the evaluation was conducted in five seasons. The performance of the crop was assessed on the basis of plant morphological and quality traits such as vine length(cm),node at which the first male flower appeared, node at which the first female flower appeared, number of male flowers/vine, number of female flowers/vine, sex ratio, number of fruits / vine, number of days taken for first harvest, fruit length (cm), fruit girth(cm), single fruit weight(g), fruit yield per vine (g),fruit colour, fruit texture and TSS and purpose for which it is recommended –snapmelon/cucumber.Among the genotypes evaluated, CBECS-37recorded the highest fruit yield of 620.07g (vine yield/ plant) followed by CBECS-25 (589.25g vine yield/ plant). The highest TSS content of 5.150Brix was observed in CBECS-5 followed by CBECS-12 with a TSS of 5.100Brix which can be used for slice purpose (fruit).

ABSTRACT:

Entanglement is a key resource in the field of quantum computation and quantum technologies. One has to deal with measurement error-mitigation in the present day Noisy Intermediate-scale Quantum (NISQ) processors so as to witness advantages offered by entanglement. In this paper we implement Bell state measurements in IBM open access 7-qubit quantum processor ibmq_nairobi and mitigate errors incurred. We evaluate fidelities of all four Bell states (theoretical) with the ones retrieved experimentally before and after measurement error-mitigation. Our results reveal a clear enhancement in quantum fidelity after error-mitigation methods are employed.

ABSTRACT:

The demand for blended learning is increasing in Saudi educational institutions, notably universities. Blended learning incorporates online and traditional face-to-face components to maximize teaching and learning best practices in synchronous and asynchronous learning contexts. Furthermore, there is a lack of studies on the attitudes, benefits, and challenges of implementing blended learning, even though it's been an emerging paradigm for decades. This study provides a picture of EFL teachers' attitudes towards Blended Learning (BL) at University of Jeddah, Khulais branch. The study also sought to determine if teachers' attitudes toward blended learning were related to gender and teaching experiences. It explored if instructors encounter supports and challenges as they implement blended approaches. The research instrument used by the researcher to collect quantitative data from a sample of 19 EFL teachers was a questionnaire to measure EFL teachers' attitudes towards it. Analyses for the research data used Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS 26). The findings of the attitude questionnaire indicated teachers' satisfaction and positive attitudes towards BL, and they had never faced challenges. Also, the findings showed no significant differences among the teachers' gender and teaching experiences on their attitudes toward blended learning (BL). In the light of the results, some recommendations were suggested.

ABSTRACT:

Ongoing discovery and development of effective strategies to treat emerging and often drug resistant strains of viral and microbial pathogens presents one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. Despite nearly a century of progress in developments in antimicrobial and antiviral therapies, infectious diseases still account for a substantial proportion of deaths worldwide, including over 100 million globally in the recent pandemic to date. In recent decades, the plague of antimicrobial resistance also represents an additional and alarming signal for both human and animal healthcare and signals a renewed sense of urgency in addressing this issue. This has made the search for novel classes of antibiotics, antivirals and therapeutics found to be capable of bypassing the microbial and viral resistance mechanisms necessary in order to replenish our current arsenal of clinically effective drugs and update our therapeutic regimens. In addition, the tremendous impact exerted by viral infections and related pathologies on our lives during the recent decade has forced scientists to acknowledge the opportunities and challenges associated with tackling infectious diseases by developing effective antiviral agents endowed with novel mechanisms of action. The discovery of new antimicrobial/antiviral agents, as well as the repurposing of existing drugs and therapeutic options will be crucial to fight the ever-increasing resistance of “superbugs”, pathogenic fungi, viruses, and parasites. Proponents of modern biophoton therapy proposed in this paper can trace its origins to the Russian scientist Alexander Gurwitsch, who a century ago observed ultra-weak emissions of light emerging from an onion root and soon found additional living tissues to be emanating similar energetic phenomena, thus energizing research which continues to the present day and projected toward the development of useful applications of the new-found biological photonic phenomena. The purpose of the present paper is to introduce the past experiences, potential applications and highly successful outcomes of biophotonic therapy as an option to treat infectious diseases including HIV, Hepatitis C, MRSA, and others, with emphasis on efficacy of using biophotonic therapies to treat and ameliorate the drug resistant variants of the above infectious agents, including potential applications for the current COVID-19 pandemic and in preparation for the emergence of the next epidemic or pandemic.

ABSTRACT:

The generalized evolution of the level of road traffic in number and characteristics, associated with overloads, today leads to an underestimate of the loads due to traffic when designing road structures. Consequently, this under-evaluation of the aggressiveness of traffic is accompanied by early appearances of damage to the roads and at the same time causing enormous budgetary expenditure on maintenance and rehabilitation. The objective of this work is to establish the methods for analyzing loadings due to traffic in two design methods (the French rational method and the Mechanistic-Empirical method) and then to establish a relationship between the “Nombred’ Essieuxéquivalents” (NE) and the number of “Equivalent Single Axle Load” (ESAL). The distribution of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) on different weighing stations in Senegal shows that heavy goods vehicles are generally overloaded with an overload percentage of up to 87%, largely exceeding the tolerance of 20% applied to the Total Authorized Weight. Charge (PTAC) by the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). By plotting the ESAL graphs as a function of NE, we notice that the point clouds are arranged in the same way. An exponential type relationship between NE and ESAL is found with a coefficient of determination (R2) varying between 0.92 to 0.95. The resemblance of the graphs clearly indicates that the effect of the terminal serviceability index (pt) and the Structural Number (SN) on the number of ESALs has almost no influence on the relationships that may exist between ESALs. and not. The choice of the reference axle and the expression of the load equivalence coefficient, however, constitutes one of the important elements in taking traffic into account in the design of pavement.

ABSTRACT:

In this work, we are interested in the mathematical analysis of a model of a bioreactor based on the results of a model already implemented ADM1. It is an observability analysis and estimation scheme for specific growth rates for an anaerobic digestion process of cow dung. A 1- stage model of 3 dynamic states is assumed describing all anaerobic digestion with a different population of microorganisms, and the evaluation of biogas production (methane + carbon dioxide). The result of specific growth rates (µmax = 0.44d-1) of bacterial populations (24gL-1 ± 2.3%) and substrate (6.5gL-1± 0.5%) are estimated from the dilution rate and biogas. The dynamics of anaerobic digestion appear to depend on the type of organic matter contained in cow substrates.

ABSTRACT:

The two major problems: climate change and global population are now common in worldwide. According to UNDESA 2017, there will be 10 billion global populations within 2050 and more desiccation will be observed with rising temperatures. It will likely have negative consequences on crop growth and productivity worldwide. Chemical fertilizers are imperative resource of plant nutrition, but quite expensive, representing a source of environmental pollution. Increasing restrictions on pesticide application in agricultural food products indicate urgent need for safer alternatives to maintain the product quality and restrain pathogen infections. Recent alternatives to chemical fertilizers and pesticides improve crop growth, using a promising and eco-friendly plant biostimulants. Thus plant fitness enhances. The need of fertilizers will be reduced, also resistance to abiotic stresses. Our study aimed to apply Moringa leaf extract (MLE) on seedlings of Cucurbita plant to acclimate and tolerate further heat stress exposition as a pre-treatment. MLE was applied in 5 plants as foliar spray (FS). The results showed that all treatments significantly increased plant vegetative growth, recommending higher yield grown in MLE. Plant extract could potentially provide a safe alternative to chemical fertilizers and plant regulators. Our experimental study indicates that MLE significantly improve growth of the plant alleviating the abiotic stress.

Agriculture is a vital sector in both China and Tanzania, contributing significantly to their economies and supporting numerous livelihoods. However, it faces challenges like climate change, resource limitations, market access issues, and technological advancements. This interdisciplinary analysis combines economic factors, basic agricultural principles, information services, and policy analysis to comprehensively study agricultural information services in both countries. The results have the potential to guide future policy decisions. Effective agricultural information services have become crucial in addressing challenges, ensuring food security, and promoting rural development in both countries. China benefits from a strong agricultural workforce driven by urbanization and technology, while Tanzania's smallholder farming, influenced by a diverse population, and defines its landscape. China has shifted away from agriculture due to industrialization, whereas Tanzania remains heavily dependent on it. Both countries recognize the importance of agricultural information services, with China leveraging advanced digital infrastructure and data analytics. Tanzania should invest in digital capabilities and mobile applications for rural areas. Collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two nations can facilitate agricultural modernization and economic growth, with Tanzania learning from China's diversification, technological integration, and economic alignment strategies.

ABSTRACT:

Trained human resources are needed to prevent food safety hazards along the food chain. A survey of food science undergraduate teams from six universities in Sri Lanka was conducted to assess food safety knowledge at two points in the food chain, food processing and catering. The questions on food processing assessed exposures of the undergraduates in classes and outside. A second assessment addressed the application of food safety knowledge in food preparation and catering management. Six teams of 5 undergraduates each answered the food processing questions. Forty-two undergraduates answered questions on food safety at food catering as individuals. The answers of undergraduates to questions related to the classroom knowledge were satisfactory, but not to knowledge on emerging hazards related to food processing. The ability of students to arrive at management decisions to avoid food safety hazards in food preparation and catering was 50%. Comparison of the responses with results from 4 countries to equivalent questions indicated notable influence of food habits over food safety knowledge. Weaknesses in the application of food refrigeration knowledge were observed. Exposing undergraduates to individual assignments in class and in industries as learning experiences may enhance their capacity to choose consumer-oriented food safety options.

ABSTRACT:

Culture has a significant role in international relations. The cultural identity, values, and social norms of a country's society can influence its foreign policy, perceptions of other countries, and the way that the country interacts with other countries in the international arena. This study aims to further explore how Indonesia, as a country that has cultural diversity, seeks to carry out cultural diplomacy to increase its soft power in international relations. Indonesian cultural diplomacy is pursued through three main instruments, namely the Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship (IACS), the empowerment of Indonesian people (diaspora) abroad, and the use of digital media. This study is library research with qualitative methods through document review, interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. The results of this study show that Indonesia's cultural diplomacy is still having several limitations that will impact the achievement of Indonesian diplomacy results. The weakness of Indonesia's cultural diplomacy is caused by several factors, namely too many soft power assets whose existence has not been managed optimally, limited budget, and the number of Human Resources (HR) in the Public Diplomacy Directorate of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs who carry out Indonesian cultural diplomacy, and the absence of a white paper related to diplomacy Indonesian culture. In addition, the absence of a centrally managed IACS alumni association in Indonesia and the lack of involvement of Indonesian domestic audiences in discussions related to foreign policy and instruments of Indonesian cultural diplomacy are also factors that cause the weakness of Indonesian cultural diplomacy.

ABSTRACT:

Water quality and its availability have implication on the health status and lifestyle of a community. Over 80% of preventable disasters, diseases, hunger and even deaths are due to improper utilization and management of water. Flooding, orchestrated by climate change has exacerbated the situation. Children below the age of 5 years old are highly vulnerable and most affected by these waterborne diseases. The pattern of water-borne diseases in relation to water quality and other environmental factors was studied among residents of Igbesa in Ado Odo-Ota LGA of Ogun state, Nigeria. Sources of drinking water were 65% among households with water sources within their premises. Common sicknesses were 75% in the wet season as compared to 25% during dry season. Sicknesses more common among children included diarrhea (58%), high fever (25%) and malaria (17%). Water parameter values and heavy metal concentrations recorded in this study were within acceptable levels. Accordingly, it was concluded that the drinking water sources in Igbesa are safe for human consumption. However, the occurrence of Cd and Co in the water samples is indicative of subtle toxic pollution in the area. This calls for proper and continuous monitoring before it gets to dangerous levels.

ABSTRACT:

Summary: In Congo, rice yields remain low. To better determine the productivity of the panicle in rice varieties, following the different treatments of the mineral nutrition background, it was established that there is a considerable influence of the contributions of nitrogen and carbon compounds coming from the vegetative organs of the plant. Methodology and results: Three treatments were applied (N12 P6 K6), (N24 P12 K12) and (N 36P 18K18) on the two (2) varieties Nerica 14 and Nerica 12. Sowing was carried out according to stencils with the creation of the same density plants 250-300 grains/m2. The results show that the varieties studied react differently to a high level of mineral nutrition (N36 P18 K18). Increased photosynthesis productivity can be seen in the upper leaves, which transmit more light deeper into the crop. Conclusion and application of results: The most favorable nutrition of a developing panicle, balanced in terms of carbon and nitrogen, is observed when the ratio of carbon to non-protein nitrogen in its tissues is equal to 30 - 40 units.

ABSTRACT:

In recent years, global energy systems have undergone a transition, with their energy matrices gradually shifting towards more renewable and cleaner sources. Among the various alternative energy sources, biofuels have become the subject of extensive academic research and scientific studies. The aim of this paper is to utilize jackfruit seeds, an agro-industrial residue, to obtain biofuel using the transesterification method. The oil was extracted from the seeds using the Soxhlet Extraction method, with hexane as the solvent. The jackfruit seeds exhibited an extractive content of 42.21 wt.%, which represents a significant portion of the biomass composition. Biodiesel production was achieved through transesterification with basic catalysis in ethanol, resulting in a conversion rate of 80.4%. The biofuel obtained was characterized by evaluating its physical-chemical parameters, including pH, electrical conductivity, acidity index, and density. The obtained results were satisfactory, and they met the specifications set by the ANP (Brazilian National Petroleum Agency) for biodiesel. Furthermore, they align with specifications found in the literature for other types of seeds. Therefore, it can be concluded that jackfruit seeds are a promising source for biofuel production. Additionally, the findings of this study provide motivation for further research in this field, particularly when synthesizing other types of seeds for biofuel extraction and comparing the results with those obtained from jackfruit seeds.

ABSTRACT:

Wheat is an important field and food crop worldwide and in Sudan it is grown in many areas using different types of cultural practices. A field experiment was conducted in Dongola Agricultural Research Farm, Northern State, for two successive seasons to investigate the effect of three leveling techniques; Laser (L), Scraper (S) and traditional (T); three type of ploughing; heavy disc harrow (H1), disc plough (H2) and no-ploughing (H3), and two sowing methods; seed drill machine (S1) and manual seed broadcasting (S2)on wheat production. The experiment was arranged in split-split plot design and the treatments were replicated three times in both seasons. The results showed significant differences at the 5% between machinery treatments effect on the parameters measured. The laser land leveling recorded the highest fuel consumption (16.3L/hr), and lower effective field capacity (0.25ha/hr), while the seed drill recorded the lowest fuel consumption (6.2 L/hr) and the highest effective field capacity(0.94 ha/hr)and wheel slippage (8.3%) were recorded by the heavy disc harrow. The soil moisture content (db %) was increased with time and depth. The highest mean soil moisture content at 75-100cm soil depth was obtained by the laser land leveling with heavy disc harrow treatment, while the lowest moisture was recorded by no-ploughing with traditional leveling in both seasons. The highest average grain yield (5.08 ton/ha), plant population (381 plants/m2), total biological yield (13.6 ton/ha), infiltration rate (31cm/hr) and harvest index (37%) were recorded by the laser land leveling and heavy disc harrow with machine seed drilling. The lowest grain yield was recorded by the combination of no-till, animal-drawn leveling and seed drilling and also scraper leveling with manual seeding recorded, 2.5 and 2.7 ton/ha for the two seasons, respectively. The study concluded that, a highly significant effect (P≤ 0.001) of laser leveling with disc harrow ploughing and seeding by seed drill machine on grain yield, compared to the other treatments used in the study, and although Laser leveling has increased the grain yield with high cost, yet it is not an expensive technique when the cost is distributed over the period of Laser leveling.

ABSTRACT:

In Dacryodesedulis (G; Don) H. J. Lam L and Elaeis guineensis Jacq. Are two fruit species used for food. In Brazzaville, they are among the most representative and cover the entire city. The phonological study of these two species was carried out throughout the city of Brazzaville. The aim of the study is to improve phenological knowledge of these species. The methods used are based on field surveys. The trees selected, marked and geolocated were monitored using the observation method for two years. The various results obtained show that in Dacryodesedulis (G. Don) H. J. Lam., defoliation is widespread on the trees between April (rainy period) and August (dry period). It peaked in June (dry period) with 53.33% of trees recorded. Leafing, on the other hand, is more noticeable than defoliation and starts in January (dry period), then progresses gradually. It becomes visible on the trees at all the sites during the rainy season, between March and June, then decreases in August. Its peak is reached between May and June, with 100% of trees counted. In the case of Elaeis guineensis Jacq. on the other hand, defoliation occurs between June and July (dry period). Leafing occurs throughout the year. The evolution of these different phenophases shows phonological characteristics common to these species, marked by phonological asynchronism, variation and interaction. These results highlight the effect of the seasons on the phonological development of the species studied.

Conservation and non-conservation are two aspects of extensive quantities. Current physics textbooks deal with conservation and non-conservation in some ways that, unfortunately, lead to misunderstandings of extensive quantities. In this paper, we will discuss and explain how this is inappropriate or obsolete and we will make some suggestions for teaching conservation and non-conservation of extensive quantities and finally give a clear and simple formulation for each extensive quantity.

In this paper, we present a numerical analysis of natural convection and the effects of collector radius variation on the velocity and temperature field. After transforming the conservation equations of mass, momentum and energy, we compare the results of our calculation code with those of Comsol. On the one hand, the comparative study of the temperatures in the collector reveals a slight difference at the entrance to the chimney, on the other hand we note that there is a perfect agreement with the general appearance of the evolution curves temperatures in the chimney. In addition, the evolution of speeds in the collector suggests the choice of a tighter mesh. We also note very low velocity values in the chimney. In addition we also present some velocity and temperature profiles in the flow as a function of the Rayleigh number. Finally, a variation in pressure during the flow was studied.

ABSTRACT:

Ivermectin (IVM), a lipid-based anthelmintic agent, effectively manages both endoparasites and ectoparasites. There is a clear association between instances of Ivermectin (IVM) overdoses, concerns over its effectiveness, and the emergence of resistance. The co-administration of Ivermectin (IVM) and Ascorbic Acid (AA) in the treatment groups exhibits a significant improvement at elevated dosages. The main objective of this study was to assess the possible interaction or viability of co-administering ascorbic acid and ivermectin at a uniform dosage. The infrared spectra of Ivermectin and ascorbic acid were analyzed in the spectral region of 4000 cm-1 to 400 cm-1. The spectra were compared to reference peaks that corresponded to specific functional groups. The visual characteristics of the band's performance may exhibit variation contingent upon the number of bands participating. The primary purpose of this study was to assess the possible interaction between ivermectin and ascorbic acid in order to ascertain the need and viability of polypharmacy or a combination of these two medications in varying proportions. The ratios examined in this study included 1:1, 1:3, 1:5, 3:1, and 5:1. The investigation incorporated evidence regarding the possibility for interaction between ivermectin and ascorbic acid, whether provided concurrently or in combination.

ABSTRACT:

Background: Salpingitis is the inflammation of the fallopian tubes with consequences such as tubal occlusion, infertility, tubal ectopic pregnancies and chronic pelvic pain. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of salpingitis induced ectopic pregnancies in females who have undergone salpingectomy and their specimen sent for anatomical pathology analysis. Methods: Ninety four specimens were collected from 01st February to 31stDecember 2006. The specimens were observed under a multi-head microscope for tubal patency and plasma cell infiltration, which were used to classify salpingitis as mild, moderate or severe. The results indicated 53%, 10% and 2% for mild, moderate and severe salpingitis, respectively. The prevalence rate of salpingitis was determined at 65%. This prevalence rate is very significant and shows that salpingitis is a major cause of tubal ectopic pregnancy in our setting. Conclusion: Salpingitis mainly affects women in their reproductive years, and this may lead to a health crisis. Contribution: Women and child healthcare form the cornerstone of social justice in any society. Radical measures should be employed at primary health care level to deal with sexually transmitted infections, and to educate young women and men on safe sexual practices.

ABSTRACT:

Our objective for this work is to study natural convection in a cavity differentially heated in 3D. The equations which govern our problem are expressed in a dimensionless form with a calculation procedure based on the finite element method implemented in the COMSOL Multiphysics calculation code. The flow is unsteady turbulent flow. Several numerical studies have been carried out in parallelepiped cavities using the Boltzmann lattice method. In our case, the cavity is heated by the ceiling and the left, right walls and the floor are maintained at the same imposed temperature, while the side walls (front and rear) are assumed to be adiabatic. A validation study of the calculation code was carried out, taking into account the studies carried out by (Hong Wang, 2006). The study on some cavities encountered in the literature was carried out to change the position of the hot temperature and noted the effect of convection in the middle of the cavities, to see the convergence time and the most important convergence time step. We carry out thermal and dynamic studies of natural convection in the cavity K_d. The flow results will be studied in terms of isotherms, flow velocity vectors, streamlines, velocity and temperature isovalues. The effect of thermal radiation from the walls is negligible. The boussinesq approximation is applied. The fluid is Newtonian P_r=0,71. The Rayleigh number is R_abased on the height of the cavity so it is fixed equal toR_aH=3,349〖10〗^10.

ABSTRACT:

ABSTRACT:

Oil was extracted from tiger nut (Cyperus esculentus) tubers at a percentage oil yield of 4.72% using Soxhlet extraction method. The extracted oil was characterized using Gas Chromatography Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID) and a fatty acid percentage composition of 35.69%, 20.78%, 18.03%, 14.25%, 9.35%, and 1.90% of Oleic acid, Linolenic acid, Lauric acid, Myristic acid, Linoleic acid and Eicosapentaenoic acid respectively was obtained, giving a total percentage fatty acid composition of 100%. A Fourier Transform Infrared Radiation (FTIR) spectroscopy was carried out on the tiger nut tuber oil which measured the oil’s absorbance of infrared light at various wavelengths that led to the determination of the oil’s molecular composition and structure. Furthermore, the triglycerides in the tiger nut tuber oil were aminated with diethylamine for synthesis of fatty acid amides. An FTIR characterization of the resulted fatty amides revealed the presence of many functional groups. The fatty acid profile of the tiger nut tuber oil and the derivatives of their fatty acids (fatty acid amides) were indicators that tiger nut tuber oil has huge exploitable potentials for utilization in food, nutrition, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, therapeutics, medicines, and plastics. Thus, inclusion of tiger nut tuber as a source of vegetable oil will reduce over-dependence on conventional oil seeds and scale up its economic value as well as strengthen the Nigeria’s economy.

ABSTRACT:

Sustainable agriculture performs a significant part in agroecosystems and decline destructive consequences at the environment through making use of multiple natural processes. Optimum soil fertility is a crucial purpose to be executed in sustainable agriculture system. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) execute an environmental-friendly way to accomplish the previous objectives. Most of the terrestrial plant species are associated with the AMF and they have a necessary mutualistic link with plants. AMF symbiosis plays a crucial component in the growth and development of plant by increasing the efficiency of root system, root hydraulic conductivity, rate of photosynthesis, improve stomatal conductance, better nutrition absorption (macronutrients and micronutrients) and increased tolerance against various biotic and abiotic stresses and also help in modifying the structure of soil, aggregating soil particle, preventing soil erosion and bioremediation of degraded land. These symbionts also help in increasing the plant yields and productivity and reduce the chemical fertilizer usage and pesticides while maintaining the quality and quantity of plant and thereby promoting the sustainable agriculture. Present review article highlights the various role played by AMFin environmentally friendly agriculture by stimulating plant growth, development, productivity and served for 3E’s i.e., eco-friendly, economic and increased yield.

ABSTRACT:

Nigeria as a country has six major seaports, many jetties and untapped potential local beaches across her inland water ways. It has been asserted that the cargo throughput plays a significant role in economic development of any nation. This assertion calls for the examination of exchange of goods between Nigeria and her neighboring countries so as to determine the balance of trade. Therefore, this study has been set out to examine the movement pattern of trades along the coaster areas of Oron, Ibaka, Ebughu Esuk Inwang, and Esuk Uyung boat terminals in Awka Ibom State, Nigeria. The movement pattern of variety of cargoes was observed at the selected coaster areas intermittently for 10 times within the year 2015- 2019. Again, the cost values for both inbound and outbound cargoes were taken by converting the unit cost price during the period under review. The estimated population of the beach markets was 3892. Yamane formula was used to get the sample size of 363 while using cluster and incidentalsampling techniques to administer well-structured questionnaires. The unit conversions of contra-bound and un-quantified cargoes through questionnaires were made by observations. The movement pattern of cargoes was determined using descriptive analysis. The results revealed that Nigeria has been a huge market for neigbouring countries and activities of coaster trades are not properly regulated. This study concluded that there are untapped revenues for Nigeria and pointing to the fact that, the activities of coaster trades movement should be regulated by government as this can generate income, employment and industries if harnessed across Nigerian jetties and inland waterways.

ABSTRACT:

Aim & In this paper, we introduce the third system which is called the category of natural deduction (CND) for language propositional logic system(LPLS), it's essential different in its form and ways form truth -table and truth-tree for (LPLS), even itspick out (or select) the same symbolic language like that used in the system of truth-table and truth- tree for (LPLS). Anyway, with regard to truth -table and truth-tree for (LPLS), there is a terminology which is called algorithm due to mathematician Muhammed ibn Musa al-khwarizmi (780-850), from the meaning of algorithm, that is there are some mechanical procedures, that we commit to it leading us to right judgment relative to arguments. In this paper we make a new presentation method for (CND) for(LPLS), the principle of the system of natural deduction is based on Garhard Gentzen, who investigated and published his work in 1934 and 1935 about it. In this article, we represent natural deduction as a category of natural deduction for language propositional logic systems, to study the characteristics of arguments in (CND) and investigate valid and invalid arguments, types of formulas, and relations between formulas and inconsistency sets.

ABSTRACT:

An experimental study was carried out on an indirect solar dryer operating with natural convection. The study focused on the behavior of three parameters over time. Solar radiation at the measurement site, the temperature of various elements of the collector and of the air at four precise locations inside the dryer, and the velocity at its outlet were measured. The results of the five-day average measurements showed that the solar dryer has a uniform temperature profile inside the drying chamber. The average values for solar radiation, air temperature in the chamber and air velocity at the chimney outlet are 505.4W/m2, 50.7°C and 0.8 m/s respectively. Added to these are the average temperatures of some of the collector's components and of the air leaving the collector. In view of the temperature levels reached in the dryer, drying operations can be carried out.

ABSTRACT:

The study was conducted to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Bengali version of the Multidimensional Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale (MSLSS: Huebner, 1994) within a sample of 576 Bengali school-going adolescents in grades 9 to10. The first objective was to determine the construct validity of the MSLSS with school-going adolescents using exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Eight items were eliminated during the factor analysis. The results clearly support the five-factor structure as a replication of Huebner’s five-factor model. The second objective was to calculate the internal consistency reliability of the MSLSS total score as well as each domain score. The internal consistency estimate of the total score was 0.914, indicating overall high consistency of the MSLSS items. The coefficient alpha for each MSLSS dimension ranged from 0.81 (Family) to 0.73 (Self). The results reported here provide preliminary evidence of the reliability and validity of the 32-item Bengali version of the MSLSS as a suitable measure for use with Bengali children and adolescents.

ABSTRACT:

Made n- and p-type Si0.7Ge0.3 thermoelectric alloys and their thermoelectric characteristics are studied. These alloys are cut into profiled plates, monolithic packages are assembled from them, switching plates are glued to the lower and upper bases of the packages, commutated packages are cut into 4-5 mm thick plates and monolithic thermoelectric modules are assembled from them. Electrical insulation nodes of thermoelectric modules are made on the basis of AlN and graphite plates. These nodes are connected to modules, resulting in monolithic samples. The energy characteristics of monolithic thermoelectric modules are studied.4 n- and p-type alloy plates (2 n-type and 2 p-type) were taken to make a mini monolithic thermoelectric module containing 16 branches. They were arranged in n-p-n-p order. A mini-monolithic thermoelectric module containing 24 branches was made using a similar technology. The difference is that the monolithic package is made of 6 plates. The electric power of thermoelectric modules is calculated by the electromotive force, external electric resistance and electric voltage generated by the module. On the basis of temperature dependences of specific electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and Seebeck coefficient, values of figure of merit ZT were calculated. ZT for n-Si0.7Ge0.3 is ~25% higher than for p-Si0.7Ge0.3 at the same temperatures. An alloy of this composition, SixGe1-x (x=0.7), was chosen because it, together with highly compatible tungsten, gives a switching junction with low electrical resistance.

ABSTRACT:

The increasing complexity and intensification of human life in the epoch of digitalization and escalation of social and political conflicts on both the international and national levels is constantly enhancing the existence of the individual. This situation results in an acute socio-psychological and pedagogical problem of providing effective and qualified aid to people by releasing their existential tension. Therefore, identification and analysis of the factors influencing the genesis and dynamics of the individual’s existence from the viewpoint of the existential philosophy appear to be a significantly topical issue. The scope of the present study is to identify and examine the main factors determining the individual’s existence, as well as to define and analyze the main social conditions contributing to release of the individual’s existential tension, on the basis of analysis of philosophical and psychological publications on existentialism and existential fiction. The results of the study consist in revealing the social nature of the origins of the existence as a conscious psychological state of the human soul, which depresses the mind of the individual and negatively affects their behavior. The author argues that it would be feasible to use the results of the present study for developing a methodology of providing effective social, clinical-psychological, and pedagogical aid to people in an acute state of existence.

ABSTRACT:

The evaluation of the material strength of concrete over time is a significant concern in many civil engineering construction projects. Several reference documents, including BAEL 91, provide formulas to estimate the compressive strength of concrete at J days based on the strength measurements obtained at 7 days. However, noticeable differences exist between the estimated values and the actual values obtained during construction when applying these formulas. The objective of this study is to assess a reliable age coefficient for estimating the concrete strength at J days based on the strength measurements at 7 days, 28 days, and 90 days, depending on the locally used materials (Togo) for concrete production. The methodological approach adopted involves collecting rock samples (amphibole and biotite gneiss) from 33 sites in Southern Togo, sampling them, and conducting various identification tests on the obtained gravel samples. The chosen sand is from the Mono River, and a commonly used cement from the local market is used. The theoretical concrete mix design is performed using the Dreux Gorisse method. The results obtained from the hardened concrete allowed the examination of different ratios according to the concrete's age. It is found that the average RC28/RC7 and RC90/RC7 ratios obtained for B20 concrete are 1,35 and 1,56, respectively, and for B25 concrete, they are 1,43 and 1,67. Considering a risk level of P=10%, these ratios become 1,42 and 1,59 for B20 concrete and 1,37 and 1,75 for B25 concrete. These ratios differ from those provided by BAEL 91, which range from 80% to 93% for B20 and 86% to 99% for B25.
